A little preparation makes a difference

1. Plan the fit

Bring photos, your window count and your ideas. Point out handles, unusual openings and anything that may affect access.

2. Prepare the space

Clear the work area and protect fragile belongings. Confirm removal of existing coverings and any building-access arrangements before the appointment.

3. Review the finished installation

Try each covering and its controls. Ask about cleaning, charging or batteries where applicable, and keep your order and service details.

Before you order

The right mount depends on the selected product, recess depth, trim and clearance. Have the mounting surface and final dimensions checked before ordering. For room darkening, discuss light around the edges as well as the fabric.

Your measurements and photos can help start the conversation. Confirm who will take the final measurements and approve the fit before the order moves forward.

Ask for the products, quantities and installation work to be described clearly. Confirm any charges or exclusions for removal, disposal, difficult access, programming and electrical work, along with responsibility for adjustments and service.

Ask for production timing and the installation appointment separately. Dates depend on the selected products, measurements, materials and access. Share any move-in or renovation deadline early, and have the schedule confirmed for your order.

Installation day and beyond

Make each opening easy to reach, move fragile items and keep children and pets clear of the work area. Agree in advance who will remove existing coverings and handle any patching or painting.

Check your association’s rules for exterior-facing colors, work hours, elevator use and contractor access. Share written requirements with EV Blinds before scheduling, including any insurance or other documentation your building requests.

For sliders, review handle clearance, door movement and where the covering sits when open. For motorization, confirm power, charging access and controls for the selected system. Ask specifically about any app or voice-control requirements. EV Honeycomb treatments are manual-only. A Double Shade setup can combine a manual cellular slider with a separate motorized roller.

Operate every treatment and review its controls and care instructions. Ask whom to contact if an adjustment or repair is needed. Keep the written warranty and service terms for your order; these explain applicable coverage and exclusions.
